Well friends, I made it. One stop at the wrong hostel. Several waterworks meltdowns, made worse by friendly kiwi's when they were trying to be nice. I'm super jet lagged and punchy. So I'm going to head to bed in a bit. I made my first dinner in a hostel kitchen, found a really big bug in my room and found out NZ has a version of Jerry Springer that made me feel less bad about being an American. There are people in NZ who don't know how their baby daddy is either.
It's rainy and cold in Auckland and very hilly.

Hi Kate! So glad you made it safely and found your living quarters. Sounds like it was a little rough - but you made it through. It will get better from here on out I am sure! I just survived my first week of dental hygiene school - and if it makes you feel any better - I am also feeling overwhelmed. I am sending lots of good thoughts your way. Take care.
